Dr. Jason Dorminey grew up in Tifton, Georgia and graduated from Tift County High School in 1988. After high school, he served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Hong Kong. Dr. Dorminey then attended Brigham Young University, from which he earned his B.S. degree in Biology in 1995.
Dr. Dorminey began his dental career at the University of Alabama School of Dentistry, where he graduated in 1998. Following graduation, he entered the United States Air Force and practiced as a general dentist for two years. Dr. Dorminey attended Wilford Hall Medical Center and completed his orthodontic residency in 2002. After graduation, he practiced orthodontics in the Air Force at Yokota AFB just outside Tokyo, Japan. In the summer of 2004, Dr. Dorminey completed his Air Force commitment and moved to Elk Grove, California to work alongside longtime Elk Grove orthodontist Dr. John Webber until Dr. Webber retired in September of 2007.
Dr. Dorminey loves orthodontics and is an active member of professional organizations such as the American Association of Orthodontists, the California Association of Orthodontists and the Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists. In addition, he is a board-certified Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics, a distinction held by less than 25% of practicing orthodontists.
In his leisure time, Dr. Dorminey enjoys golfing, snow skiing and spending time with his three children (Ryan, Ashlyn and Tyler) and his wife, Shannon. The Dormineys live locally in Elk Grove.
